my Personal Library (Part One)

Heyy! Howdy folks and good people! How have y’all been doing?
(This post is sliced in two, releasing part two later this week😎)(also I sound like a cowgirl….Let’s roll with it, Yeehaw!🤠)

Have you ever wanted to build up your personal library but didn’t know where to start for books? Yeah, I’m kinda in the same position! But fear not, because today I come bearing all the contents of my personal library (this does not include my family as a whole, that would be waaaaaaayyyyy too many books(we have like five FULL bookshelves in our house, not counting the ones stored elsewhere)) !!!!!!!!

Alrighty, buckle your seat belts for a lot of books and a littttllle bit of fangirling! *This post contains 40 of the 80 books situated happily on my bookshelf. I will include the second half in a future post.*

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
I have this book in the abridged version as well, and have read both of them, although the unabridged version I have only read the first half. I do enjoy this story, it earned it’s title as a classic🥰(I also love all the movie version😏)

Jane Austen’s books, including all versions and the abridged
Love these books, my favorite is probably Love and Friendship. My mother and I listened to this and about died laughing😅. Of course, I have double of all these books, except Love and Friendship, so they take up a good chunk of my shelf. Fun fact, by the way, I am partly named after Jane Austen, but I am named Jane because of it’s meaning too🥰

The Penderwicks book one by Jeanne Birdsall
IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THIS SERIES WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GO READ IT RIGHT NOW! SUCH a classic series by author Jeanne Birdsall. I unfortunately only have the first one, but hope to get more by the end of this year!

Ruthie’s Gift and One of a Kind Mallie by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
Such a cute story and I totally feel for Ruthie the main character (I’m in the middle between boys, but thankfully not quite so many🙏🏼) I absolutely recommend this two-book series.

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
I haven’t actually read this story in it’s entirety, it was a little too slow for my taste as a twelve year old, but I hope to come back to it soon. I have watched the movie though (the one with Shirley Temple!)

What Katie did by Susan Coolidge
I also have not read this one nor watched the movie and cannot vouch for what it is about, quite frankly I am clueless🤦🏼‍♀️. But it’s on my shelf so there you go.

Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis
Also have not read this but it looks super cool, a fun story about the missionary Katie Davis. I am super excited to read this one though!

Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn
(wow, I have not read a lot of these books!) I really need to get on that. Anyways, this one I have heard is super funny because it is written in letters, but then they start losing some letters of the alphabet so by the end there are only like seven letters that remain. It’ll be a fun read when I get there!

Unblemished, Unraveling, Unbreakable, Wonderland Trials, and Looking Glass Illusion by Sara Ella
I CANNOT FANGIRL ENOUGH ABOUT EITHER OF THESE SERIES!!!! I am currently in the middle of Unbreakable, and Sara Ella’s plot twists and crazy plots have me totally sucked in. Highly reccomend. The Wonderland Trials too, I could not believe the awesomeness that is these books! I have written a book review on the second series, found here is you would like to check that out.

100 Days of Sunlight and The Best Christmas Ever by Abbie Emmons
OH SUCH A GOOD SERIES! While these both can be read as standalone novels, I find them to be much more enjoyable if you read 100 days of Sunlight first before Best Christmas Ever. For some reason it makes more sense that way, but even if I hadn’t read 100DOS first, BCE would still have been super enjoyable. (note of caution, one of the characters does use swear words, so beware of that. In my copy, I have gone through and blotted them out)

Absolutely Truly, and the Mother-Daughter Book club series by Heather Vogel Frederick
Another favorite. The Mother-Daughter book club series is one I have read over and over again, the characters are so relatable and funny. Not only do they remind me of myself and a couple of my friends, but they also face challenges that we would never face, such as saving farms and public school problems. (I’m homeschooled, as are most of my friends) Absolutely Truly is the first in another series, and so far I have only read that one, but am excited for more.

Dearest Josephine by Caroline George
LOVE this one! A little crazy with all the back and forth of texts and then some of novel and dual time plot, but this story was really well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Palace of Stone By Shannon Hale
Yes, I do know that this is the second one in the series, but the library had the first and the third and not the second. While I generally go to the library first for a story I’m not too sure I’m going to like so I don’t blow my money on something I might not even finish, the library just didn’t have this one. Which I am totally okay with, by the way, I hopefully will be finishing my collection f this series in the future as I cannot stand to have one book in a series and not finish t off.

THANK YOU for sticking through this and reading this long post, hopefully if you have not heard of any of these books you will check them out (whether just see what they are about more thoroughly or actually check them out by going to your library) and maybe find a new favorite! Until next time, reader!
